Albert E. Griest died at his home on West main street Friday morning at one o’clock after a year’s illness of consumption.  The deceased was born on July 2, 1854. In September 1875 he was married to Miss Eliza E. Beal, the fruit of their marriage being three beautiful daughters, aged respectively 15 and 8 years (sic).  Mr. Griest has resided in this county all his life. He was an honest, energetic and conscientious business man, a kind husband and indulgent father, whose demise is keenly felt. He was a member of the Methodist Church. The funeral will occur from the residence next Tuesday.  - kbz

Albert E. Griest died this morning at 1 o’clock after an illness of a year’s duration of consumption. During this time he has been confined to the bed, and last evening about 8 o’clock he was taken suddenly worse, and death soon closed the scene. He was born on July 2, 1854 and was over 38 years old when his life closed. He was married in September 1875 to Miss Eliza E. Beal, who survives him, with three daughters, one fifteen years of age and the other two (twins) eight years old. Mr. Griest is a son of Wm. P. Griest, and has resided in this county all his life. He was energetic, honest and a member of the Methodist Church. Telegrams have been sent to relatives who are at Denver, Col., VanBuren, Ark., and Carthage, N.Y., and the funeral services will not be held until Tuesday.

Funeral Notice
The funeral services of the late Albert Greist will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the family residence conducted by Rev. G. W. Switzer. The interment will be made at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
